I've been painting this off-and-on for the past couple of days, and I'm pleased with the result. Few references were used, which is probably painfully obvious in regards to the anatomy. Overall, however, it was a great learning experience.
Porushki is another one of my horse characters, only he is without wings and horn in this picture. An old portrait of him can be seen in my scraps.
Credit goes to Losmios for her wonderful shading tutorial. I like the effect, assuming I did it properly.
He looks lovely however you could pay a lil more attention to the trees in the bg to made them more sharp (branches cover big part of the picture so they draw attention of the viewer) I really love how you did his coat - it looks so shiny

Hmm... I see what you mean. I thought I'd made the ones in the foreground sharp enough, but in hindsight they are still too blurry. I'll see if I can fix that, and thank you for the critique.
The atmosphere of the image is great. The background is really eerie. I do not know the reason but it reminds be of a labyrinth. I would not want to go into this wood. The horse looks very good. I like its mane and the light eye in the dark fur. Beautiful work!
This is great. I love everything about it from the way you colored the horse to the trees and your use of dark and light space to make the picture stand out.
